”It wasn’t?” Glancing at Roland as she wandered the camp, Regina’s eyes widened before she nodded. It’d been so long since she’d last spoken with a child Roland’s age, she’d forgotten how talkative they were. Not that that was a bad thing. She was grateful for the distraction. Had it been anyone else attempting to hold her interest, they would have found themselves thrown thirty feet away. Her eyes crossed as she followed his finger, smiling as he too tapped her nose before narrowing her eyes in mock outrage.
“I would think that happens often, hmm?” The Merry Men certainly seemed — rambunctious. Regina expected ‘silliness’ was a common occurrence between them. “Oh —” The Green Lady, the Wicked Witch. She blinked slowly, raising her brow as she pondered just what this Witch could find so interesting about a child before she shook her head. “I’ve not seen her yet, but — I think you should stay away from her , okay? If you see her again. I don’t want her to — hurt you.”
If Regina were to give advice about witches and their wickedness, about steering clear for they could be dangerous, they could hurt and kill and all without a second thought — she wouldn’t just be talking about her green intruder.
She would be talking about herself as well.
Breaking from her thoughts, Regina smiled softly, amused at his attempts to hide his obvious exhaustion. “You don’t? I do. If you’re not going to sleep, will you sit with me until I do? Maybe you could tell me a story?”
"She was staring at me, I think she was talking to me, But I was trying to get papa to look…“ Roland sighed, "There was then this green smoke stuff and she was gone! Like magic!” he added, his eyes widen as he used to his hands to pretend he was using magic,
"It was weird, It was like this one time, Papa’s friend Neal had to get this shadow to come and I had to get it, and it grabbed me and tried to take me away from my Papa, but Mulan saved me.“ he nodded his head as he explained the story. "Mulan’s a very nice lady - but I sometimes hear her cry… She misses the lady called, A-Aur-Aurora?” he began to ramble, trying to pronounce the princess’ name
"Yes! I would love to tell you a story!“ he grinned with excitement, nodding his head , enthusiastically "I can tell you more stories about me, papa and the Merry Men.” he kept his small smile upon his face as he held his teddy closer to him, burying his face into the fur as he laughed.
"Gina – Do you think… I’ll get a new mama one day?“ he asked her, curious to what she would say, he had asked Robin once but didn’t get a full answer and most of the Merry Men ignored his question when it came to mothers. "I would like a mama… But I don’t think she’ll like me."
