“You could have a new family!
My lost boys and I, we live on an enchanted island and we never age and we go on adventures just like you do.
You are welcome to join.”
His smile is full and bright, his acting all for show.

"But… I already have a family.”
“I have papa and the Merry Men.”
"We’re one big happy family.“
“Roland, for what cause do I have to lie?
All grown-ups have ever done is lie.
Don’t you deserve the truth?”

“But… Papa is all I have.”
“Why would he want to lie to me?”
The little boy asked, adding a little sniff at the end of his words, trying to hold back the tears.
“Is that what he told you?
Foolish boy, he’s tricking you!
He’s run off with his men and left you behind.”

"Papa wouldn’t leave me.”
“You’re lying. Lying Is bad”
“He wouldn’t leave me behind, he always comes back.”
”Oh no, they were quite real. As am I.
Perhaps he’s left you.
That seems like a grown-up sort of thing to do.”

“Papa wouldn’t leave me.”
“He’s just on a hunting trip with little John.”
“He always comes back.”
“I’ve met you in your dreams before. Perhaps you don’t remember me.
I’m Peter. Peter Pan.”

"Papa said they were just dreams - ”
"He said you weren’t real.“
"Where is my papa?”
“Well, I’m not exactly a stranger.”

"I don’t know your name. So you’re a stranger…“
